Alumni Camp

Celebrate Camp Pepin’s 75th Summer at Alumni Camp: July 9-10, 2009

The Red Wing YMCA’s Camp Pepin officially began operating in 1935, with Joe Saul (then the Executive Director of the YMCA in Red Wing) leading a group of boys on a campout to a recently-donated piece of wooded land on Deer Island.  Seventy-five summers later, thousands of people have made the same trip to Deer Island to make Camp Pepin a part of their lives.

In 2009, on July 9th-10th, camp will be calling back all of her alumni to join in celebration of this milestone year.  We will be offering favorite camp activities like archery, arts & crafts, boating, and the climbing tower.  And, of course, the waterfront will be open for those that want to play once again in Lake Pepin’s waters.  Meals will be served in the Dining Hall, and a campfire (complete with skits and songs) will be scheduled for the evening.  We look forward to singing the songs and hearing the stories of Camp Pepin with our alumni, so come prepared to renew acquaintances and relive some of the great memories of camp.

An Alumni Camp Registration Form is downloadable under the Alumni section of camp’s website.  Shared housing in the cabins and camping is available at camp; private lodging can also be found at one of the nearby listings below.*

We hope to see you back again at camp!
